In the Footsteps of Healers - 8 days tour

Day 3: Dakar – Kaolack
Morning departure to Keur Massar, home to the Traditional Medicine Center, where traditional healers and herbalists work alongside professors from the University of Dakar’s Biology Department. Continue to Rufisque, where participants can experience a “Ndep Ceremony”, a traditional healing ritual involving drumming and trance induction. Lunch in the village. Arrival in Kaolack in the evening. Dinner and overnight stay.

Day 4: Kaolack – Ziguinchor
After breakfast, cross into Gambia towards the Saloum region. Stop in Banjul, Gambia’s capital, to meet with the country’s most renowned healers. In the afternoon, continue towards Ziguinchor, passing through the Mandingo region, famous for its female healers. Dinner and overnight stay.

Day 5: Ziguinchor
Morning city tour of Ziguinchor, including a visit to the Saint Maur Des Fosses market. Lunch in the city. In the afternoon, visit Mawa village and meet with the “Grand Marabout”, a highly respected traditional healer and spiritual leader. Return to Ziguinchor for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 6: Ziguinchor – Cap Skirring – Ziguinchor
After breakfast, journey through Basse Casamance, exploring animist villages and sacred healing rituals. Meet with Diola fetishists, who practice spiritual healing and divination. Lunch and relaxation at Cap Skirring’s pristine beaches. Return to Ziguinchor for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 7: Ziguinchor – Kaolack – Dakar
Morning departure towards Dakar, with stops at Fulani villages to learn about their traditional healing practices. Lunch in Kaolack, followed by a return to Dakar. Dinner and overnight stay.

Day 8: Dakar – Departure
Breakfast followed by a shopping tour in Dakar. Free time in the afternoon before transfer to the airport for departure.
